Abstract

Abstract Device for coding-decoding image signals by prediction-transformation containing means (CODi) for coding local-image signals to be transmitted and means (DCODi,j) for decoding signals of a received distant image, these signals being transmitted by means of a transmission network (TR) of a given throughput, in which the coding means consist of a coding loop comprising a coder and a decoder and which is characterised in that the means for decoding the received distant image consist of the decoder of the loop for coding the local image, this decoder thus securing the decoding of the local images and the decoding of the distant images. <??>Application to videophony and telesurveillance. <IMAGE>
