Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 13
Claim 1
Independent Claim 61 words
A molding composition, comprising a thermoplastic material, the composition being solid at 38°C and having a melting or softening point below 75°C that comfortably can be withstood by oral tissues, characterized in that the thermoplastic material is homogeneously blended with a free-radically polymerizable resin and a free-radical initiator, the composition having semi-thermoplasticity and hot custom memory after the resin is polymerized.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 20 words
A composition according to claim 1, characterized in that the thermoplastic material comprises a polyester, a polyurethane, or a polycaprolactone.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 15 words
A composition according to claim 2, characterized in that the polyester comprises a segmented polyester.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 74 words
A composition according to claim 2, characterized in that the polycaprolactone has the formula: where R¹ is hydrogen or an aromatic or a straight chain or branched aliphatic backbone, w is 1 if R¹ is hydrogen, and w otherwise has an average value from 1 to 4, M is oxygen or -NR²- where R² is hydrogen or a non-interfering aromatic or aliphatic group, and the product of w times x is greater than 35.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 28 words
A composition according to any preceding claim, characterized in that the resin comprises an acrylate, methacrylate, unsaturated amide, or an acrylated urethane, or acrylated polyester oligomer or polymer.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 15 words
A composition according to any preceding claim, characterized in that the initiator comprises a photoinitiator.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 26 words
A composition according to any preceding claim, characterized in that the thermoplastic material is present in major proportion and the resin is present in minor proportion.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 38 words
A composition according to any preceding claim, further characterized by containing up to 90 weight percent thermoplastic material, up to 50 weight percent polymerizable resin, up to 10 weight percent initiator, and 0 to 70 weight percent filler.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 23 words
A composition according to any preceding claim, further characterized by the composition comprises at least one layer of a multi-layer thermoplastic modeling composition.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 40 words
A composition according to any preceding claim, further characterized in that the resin has been polymerized, and the composition is in the form of a dental crown or bridge, or a male or female mold of a tooth or teeth.
Claim 11
Independent Claim 67 words
A method of preparing a molding composition comprising a thermoplastic material which composition is solid at 38°C and has a melting or softening point below 75°C that comfortably can be withstood by oral tissues, characterised in that the thermoplastic material is homogeneously blended with a free-radically polymerizable resin and a free-radical initiator to provide a composition having semi-thermoplasticity and hot custom memory after the resin is polymerized.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 57 words
A method according to claim 11 wherein the thermoplastic material is in accordance with the material as defined in any one of claims 2 through 4 or the resins as defined in claim 5 or the initiator as is defined in claim 6 or the proportions are as defined in any one of claims 7 and 8.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 34 words
Use of a molding composition in a method of preparing a composition for forming impressions of dental tissue wherein the composition is a composition as defined in any one of claims 1 to 10.
