Abstract In order to satisfy all the requirements made of passenger seats, their sub-frames have in recent times always been formed from profiled rods bridging the support feet, or a profiled plate. <??>In order to increase the leg room in the case of this design it is proposed to connect the connecting rails of these profiled rods/this profiled plate lying approximately in one plane by means of a box spar.
