Abstract
Abstract A method for the seek control of a disk apparatus comprising the steps (113, 116, 117) of moving a head (6) from the first position to the second position on a recording medium by the control of a processor (4) which receives the first command from an external device, the step (E) of setting the load state of the processor to the state where it can receive the command during at least the step (116) of the seek operation under the pre-reading control, the step (121) of judging whether or not the second command can be given from the external device to the processor during the seek operation, and the steps (121, 122, 123, 125) of stopping the seek operaton of moving the head from the first position to the second position when the second command is judged to have been given to the processor.

A seek control method for a disk apparatus comprising the steps of: (a) performing a seek operation of moving a head from a first position on a recording medium to a second position under control of a processor receiving a first command from an external device; (b) setting a load state of said processor to a state where said processor can accept a command during executing said step (a); (c) determining whether or not a second command has been supplied to said processor from said external device during a time said step (a) is being executed; and (d) stopping said seek operation of moving said head from said first position to said second position when it is determined by said step (c) that said second command has been supplied to said processor.
