Kneejoint endroprosthesis
Abstract
A knee joint endoprosthesis contains a femur part (2), a meniscus element (6) and a tibia part (12), the femur part (2) and the tibia part (12) with bearing surfaces bearing against associated bearing surfaces of the meniscus element (6). This endoprosthesis is to be further developed in such a way that the physiological knee joint functions are fulfilled during movement and stress, with local stress peaks, in particular as a result of line or point contact, being avoided. It is proposed to provide the femoral part (2) with a spherical bearing surface (4) which bears against the likewise spherical and concentrically arranged bearing surface (8) of the meniscus element (6). The tibia part (12) is convex and has a cylindrical bearing surface (14) against which the second appropriately designed and coaxially arranged bearing surface (10) of the meniscus element (6) bears.
