Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 14
Claim 1
Independent Claim 177 words
A recording liquid which comprises 3 - 20 % by weight of carbon black, a water-soluble resin, a water-soluble organic solvent including 10 - 50 % by weight of a polyhydric alcohol and/or its alkyl ether and 3 - 15 % by weight of an aliphatic monohydric alcohol, and 10 -60 % by weight of water, wherein the amount of the dissolved water-soluble resin is not more that 2 % by weight, with the pigment/resin ratio being 3:2 to 10:1, and the recording liquid further contains at least one of dyes represented by the following formula (A) to C, with the content of the dye being in the range of 0.5 to 2.0 % by weight on the basis of the total weight of the recording liquid, where R is - H, - COCH₃, and M is Na, Li, K or ammonium; wherein R₁ and R₂ are independently selected from -OCH₃, -CH₃, -NH₂ and -NHCOCH₃, n is 0 or 1 and M is Na, Li, K, or ammonium; and wherein M is Na, K, Li or ammonium.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 35 words
A recording liquid according to Claim 1, wherein the content of the carbon black is in the range of 3 to 12% by weight on the basis of the total weight of the recording liquid.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 38 words
A recording liquid according to Claim 1 or 2, wherein the content of the aliphatic monohydric alcohol is in the range of 3 to 10% by weight on the basis of the total weight of the recording liquid.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 44 words
A recording liquid according to any one of Claims 1 to 3, wherein the content of the polyhydric alcohol and/or its alkyl ether is in the range of 10 to 15% by weight on the basis of the total weight of the recording liquid.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 27 words
A recording liquid according to anyone of claims 1 to 4, wherein the amount of the dissolved water-soluble resin is not more than 1 % by weight.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 24 words
A recording liquid according to anyone of claims 1 to 5, wherein the pigment/resin ratio is 3:1 to 10:1, more preferably 10:3 to 10:1.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 20 words
A recording liquid according to any one of Claims 1 to 6, wherein the aliphatic monohydric alcohol is ethyl alcohol.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 22 words
A recording liquid according to any one of Claims 1-7, wherein the water-soluble resin has on acid value of 50 to 300.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 19 words
A recording liquid according to Claim 8, wherein the water-soluble resin has on acid value of 70 to 250.
Claim 10
Independent Claim 35 words
A method for ink jet recording which comprises ejecting a recording liquid according to any one of claims 1 to 9 as liquid droplets from fine orifices by endowing the recording liquid with heat energy.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 78 words
Method for producing the recording liquid as claimed in anyone of the preceding claims 1 to 9, comprising the following steps: adding a pigment to an aqueous solution containing at least a dispersed resin, an amine and water, stirring the mixture, dispersing the mixture by dispersing means to obtain a dispersion, adding a solution of the remaining components, where the dye is completely dissolved, to the dispersion and stirring the mixture obtained from the solution and the dispersion.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 23 words
Method according to claim 11, wherein said dispersion is subjected to centrifugation after the step of dispersing the mixture by a dispersing means.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 16 words
Method according to claim 11 or 12, wherein said amine is ammonia or an organic amine.
Claim 14
Dependent Claim 17 words
Method according to claim 13, wherein said organic amine is selected from monoethanolamine, diethanolamine, triethanolamine and aminomethylpropanol.
