Abstract

Abstract A position adjustment system comprising: a means for extracting pixel data on a peripheral of the first circle in the first image; a means for extracting pixel data on a peripheral of the second circle, cocentric to the first circle in the second image; a means for rotating the pixel data of the first and the second images relatively to each other by a predetermined number of pixels; a means for detecting the maximal identification ratio which detects the maximal identification ratio of the first and second pixel data and an angle and direction of the rotation; and a means for comparing the first and second images with each other by rotating them by the angle and direction of the rotation.

A position adjustment system described in the first claim, wherein said means for detecting the maximal identification ratio calculates exclusive-or of said first and second pixel data so as to extract areas of different pixels of the first and second pixel data, and said maximal identification ratio is detected at the position of the minimum number of different pixels.

A position adjustment system described in the first claim, further comprising a means for moving parallelly said first and second image relative to each other within a predetermined small offset and for calculating an identification ratio so as to move said first and second image relative to each other in order to make said ratio maximum, after moving the first and second images according to detecting result of said maximal identification extracting method.
