Abstract

Abstract In a consecutive image processing system for smoothly and consecutively processing image data when transferring and displaying the image data stored in image memories and display memories, the system comprises: a host computer (81); an image control apparatus (82) having an image memory (821) divided into a plurality of memory areas for storing image frames having a display order,, and a first microprocessor unit (822) for commanding an enlargement rate, a memory transfer, and a display start based on a command from the host computer (81); and an image display apparatus (83) having at least a plurality of display memories (831a, 831b), and a second microprocessor unit (832) for commanding a memory switch and a start address of an enlarged image under an enlargement rate based on a command from the first microprocessor unit (822).

Claim 1
Independent Claim 220 words
A consecutive image processing system for smoothly and consecutively processing image data when transferring and displaying said image data stored in image memories and display memories, said system comprising: a host computer (81,111); an image control apparatus (82,112) having at least one image memory (821,112a) divided into a plurality of memory areas (1...4; 1...16) for storing image frames having a display order, a timer (823,112c) for counting a transfer time and a display time, and a first microprocessor unit (822,112b) for commanding an enlargement rate, a memory transfer and a display start based on a command from said host computer (81,111); and an image display apparatus (83,113) having at least two display memories (831a, 831b), image data of each display memory being alternately displayed, and when image data of one display memory is displayed, said image data in said image memory (821,112a) is transferred to the other display memory, a second microprocessor unit (832,113b) for commanding a memory switch and a start address of an enlarged image under said enlargement rate based on a command from said first microprocessor unit (822,112b), and an enlargement processing unit (834) for enlarging image data based on said enlargement rate, whereby the amount of data transferred between the image control apparatus (82,112) and the image display apparatus (83,113) is reduced by utilizing enlargement processing.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 32 words
A system as claimed in claim 1, wherein said image control apparatus (82) further comprises a memory transfer unit (824) alternately transferring said image data to said each display memory (831a, 831b).
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 40 words
A system as claimed in claim 1, wherein said image display apparatus (83) further comprises a memory switch unit (833) for switching said display memories (831a, 831b), display section (835) for displaying said image data on a display device (835b).
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 129 words
A consecutive image processing system as claimed in claim 1, wherein: the or each image memory (112a) is divided into a lower bits portion and an upper bits portion, two look-up tables (112e, 112f) are provided in said image control apparatus (112) for storing light and shade data of said image data corresponding to said portion, and said first microprocessor unit (112b) also commands a look-up table transfer based on said command from said host computer (111); and said image display apparatus (113) comprising a display memory for a lower bits portion and a display memory for an upper bits portion corresponding to said image memory (112a), and two look-up tables (113f, 113g) for storing contents corresponding to said look-up tables (112e, 112f) in said image control apparatus (112).
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 67 words
A system as claimed in claim 4, wherein said image control apparatus (112) further comprises a memory transfer unit (112d) for transferring said image data in said lower and upper bits portions, and a look-up tables transfer unit (112a) for alternately transferring contents of said look-up tables (112e, 112f) of said image control apparatus (112) to said look-up tables (113f, 113g) of said image display apparatus (113).
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 44 words
A system as claimed in claim 4, wherein said image display apparatus (113) further comprises a look-up table switch unit (113h) for alternately switching said look-up tables (113f, 113g), and a display section (113e) for displaying said image data on a display device (113e₂).
