Die auf der Innenseite liegende Schicht besteht aus einem gegenüber dem Kühlmittel inerten, nicht quellbaren Material, während die äussere Schicht aus einem Material mit einer den jeweiligen Erfordernissen angepassten Berstdruckfestigkeit hergestellt ist. Dabei macht die Wandstärke der berstdruckfesten äusseren Schicht 25% bis 95% der Gesamtwandstärke aus.
