Optical communication network
Abstract
Abstract In a first supplementary stage (Fig. 1), the optical communication network has a common cable (CC1) arriving from an exchange (AT1), which is fed in a conduit (RZ) to a cable branching point (KV). There, the cable is divided up via branching devices (KVE1-KVEp) into a multiplicity of individual buried optical cables (EC1-ECx). The number (p) of optical waveguides in the common cable (CC1) is substantially smaller than the number (x) of optical waveguides in the individual buried optical cables (EC1-ECx). In a second supplementary stage (Fig. 2), a common cable (CC2) is laid, in which the number of optical waveguides (LW1-LWx) provided is at least equal to the number of individual cables (EC1-ECx) present. The branching devices (KVE1-KVEp) are replaced by splices (SP1-SPx) at the cable branching point (KV). <IMAGE>
