Abstract
Abstract The instrument is used for implanting a disc lens (56) or chip lens (Fig. 12 and Fig. 13) into the crystalline capsule of an eye through a central, round capsulorhexis. The instrument has a clamping mechanism which holds the lens, compressing its haptic part (60), over essentially the lens diameter. The haptic arms (80) of a chip lens are folded over one another crosswise in the clamping mechanism. The lens is released from the clamping mechanism in a forward movement. <IMAGE>
