Method for putting into operation a module connected to an electronic control system

Abstract

Abstract 2.1 Modules (11), which are intended for use in an automation system (1), can be adapted to different conditions of the process to be controlled by the selection of specific operating parameters. This has hitherto been done primarily by plugging in connecting links. This method is to be simplified. 2.2 The method according to the invention provides that all the operating parameters and the physical address of the module (11) are transferred by the control system (1) via software routines to the module (11) once it has been plugged into a slot (10) of the automation system (1). The method can be used in process control systems or automation systems. <IMAGE>
