Abstract
Abstract The invention relates to a lubricant for a refrigerator using a chlorine-free fluorocarbon such as fluorocarbon 134a as the refrigerant and characterised by comprising a neopentylpolyol ester of a fatty acid having 2 to 6 carbon atoms. The invention also includes a refrigerant composition characterised in that it comprises a chlorine-free fluorocarbon and lubricant of the present invention in which the volume ratio of neopentylpolyol ester(s) to chlorine-free fluorocarbon is from 99:1 to 1:99.
