Abstract
Abstract Ocular implants are formed so as to be insertable in the suprachoroid of the eye, preferably in the form of plaques 0.5 to 10 mm x 0.5 to 10 mm, and 0.25 to 1.0 mm thick. They are made from a pharmacologically acceptable biodegradable polymer, such as a polyester, incorporating an active agent for treating an eye condition, for example an anti-tumour agent.

Claim 1
Independent Claim
52 words
Use, in the preparation of an implant for insertion into the suprachoroid of the eye and incapable of bodily migration therefrom, to treat an eye condition therapeutically, of (i) an agent which is a drug, pharmaceutical agent or bacterial agent, and (ii) a pharmacologically acceptable polymer which is degradable in the eye.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim

Use according to claim 1 in which the eye condition is a tumour and the agent is an anti-tumour agent.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
24 words
Use according to claim 1 or claim 2, comprising forming the implant in the form of a plaque of said polymer, incorporating the agent.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
26 words
Use according to claim 1 or claim 2, comprising forming the implant in the form of a microcapsule or microsphere of said polymer, incorporating the agent.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
69 words
An implant for treating an eye disease comprising (i) an agent which is a drug, pharmaceutical agent or bacterial agent, and (ii) a pharmacologically acceptable polymer which is degradable in the eye, characterised by being in the form of a plaque capable of insertion into the suprachoroid of an eye, the plaque being 0.5 to 10 mm long, 0.5 to 10 mm wide, and 0.25 to 1.0 mm thick.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
