Abstract

Abstract There is provided a compound electronic apparatus of a personal computer and a facsimile which are compatible with a general personal computer, comprising: a group of ports and a common memory which are provided between the personal computer and the facsimile and are used to transmit and receive various data; and an interruption signal generator to generate an interruption signal to the reception side when data is supplied from one of the personal computer and the facsimile to the other through the ports, wherein an interruption processing program which is started when the interruption signal is received is provided in a main memory of a central processing unit of each of the personal computer and the facsimile. With the apparatus, various softwares for general personal computers can be used without any change, while the facsimile function to transmit and receive image data via a line can be effectively used.

Claim 1
Independent Claim 115 words
A compound electronic apparatus of a personal computer and a facsimile which are compatible with a general personal computer, comprising: a group of ports and a common memory which are provided between the personal computer and the facsimile and are used to transmit and receive various data; and interruption signal generating means for generating an interruption signal to a reception side when the data is supplied from one of the personal computer and the facsimile to the other through the ports, wherein an interruption processing program which is started when the interruption signal is received is provided in a main memory of a central processing unit of each of the personal computer and the facsimile.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 115 words
A compound electronic apparatus of a personal computer and a facsimile which are compatible with a general personal computer, comprising: a group of ports and a common memory which are provided between the personal computer and the facsimile and are used to transmit and receive various data; and interruption signal generating means for generating an interruption signal to a reception side when the data is supplied from one of the personal computer and the facsimile to the other through the ports, wherein an interruption processing program which is started when the interruption signal is received is provided in a main memory of a central processing unit of each of the personal computer and the facsimile.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 50 words
An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the ports to output the data from the personal computer to the facsimile include a 'port for a printer to output the print data, and the facsimile has an emulating function of the printer which can be connected to the general personal computer.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 32 words
An apparatus according to claim 2, wherein the print data which was received through the printer port is printed by a printer which visualizes the image which was received by the facsimile.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 50 words
An apparatus according to claim 2, wherein when the facsimile receives predetermined command data sand parameters from the personal computer through the ports and the common memory, the facsimile facsimile-transmits image data of the print data which was subsequently received on the basis of the command data and the parameters.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 49 words
An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the facsimile has a transparent touch-type coordinate input plate which is located in front of a display screen of the personal computer and means for supplying data regarding detected coordinates to the personal computer side via the ports and the common memory.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 22 words
An apparatus according to claim 5, wherein marks of processing items are written at predetermined positions of the touch-type coordinate input plate.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 61 words
An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein when the facsimile receives predetermined command data from the personal computer through the ports, the facsimile supplies the facsimile data which was subsequently received through a line to the personal computer via the common memory, and the personal computer stores the supplied facsimile data into an auxiliary memory device provided in the personal computer.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 59 words
An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the personal computer has a driver software to supply the image data which was read by document reading means provided in the facsimile or the facsimile data which was stored in an auxiliary memory device provided in the personal computer to an application software which is operated by the general personal computer.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 59 words
An apparatus according to claim 7, wherein the personal computer has a driver software to supply the image data which was read by document reading means provided in the facsimile or the facsimile data which was stored in the auxiliary memory device Provided in the personal computer to an application software which is operated by the general personal computer.
Claim 11
