Il comprend deux manchons (1, 2) coulissant l'un dans l'autre et qui contiennent chacun une partie du connecteur dans leur évidement. Un bouchon (15) de verrouillage équipé d'une saillie (26) pénétrant dans une gorge (8) du manchon male (1) empêche la désolidarisation accidentelle après assemblage.
