Claim 1
Independent Claim 74 words
A composite filter fabric comprising: a first layer consisting of a plurality of staple fibers of P84 polyimide polymer consolidated through entanglement of said fibers, said entanglement being of the character produced by a needle punching operation; a substrate layer of a depth filtration filter fabric; fibers of said depth filtration filter fabric having a diameter not substantially less than that of said staple fibers; and means bonding said first layer to said substrate.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 74 words
A composite filter fabric comprising: a first layer consisting of a plurality of staple fibers of P84 polyimide polymer consolidated through entanglement of said fibers, said entanglement being of the character produced by a needle punching operation; a substrate layer of a depth filtration filter fabric; fibers of said depth filtration filter fabric having a diameter not substantially less than that of said staple fibers; and means bonding said first layer to said substrate.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 45 words
A composite filter fabric as defined in Claim 1, wherein said means bonding said layers together comprises an entanglement of the fibers of each said layer within the fibers of the other layer, said entanglement being of the character produced by a needle punching operation.
Claim 4
