Abstract

In the case of a circuit breaker, the switching bridge (5), the pawl (6) and the pawl support (7) are combined to form an assembly which can be pivoted about a bearing pin (4) provided in the housing (1). The pawl (6) is loaded by a spring (8) and can be pivoted with respect to the pawl support (7), which in turn is pivotably mounted on the switching bridge (5). This assembly is coupled to a push rod (25) which engages in a mouth (9) between the pawl (6) and the pawl support (7), with an actuating button (20). By swiveling the pawl (6) under the action of the plunger (54) of the magnetic release (51) or the pull lever (67) under the action of the bimetallic strip (41), the mouth (9) is opened so that the end received in it ( 26) of the push rod (25) is released. As a result, the switching bridge (5) can be pivoted from the tension spring (16) into the off position. The bimetallic strip (41) is fastened to a carrier (42) which is fixed in the housing (1) via conical pins (45) engaging in holes (44) in the carrier (42). The switching bridge (5) is in the off position on the carrier (42) for the bimetallic strip (41).
