Abstract

The invention relates to a propellant charge container or a combustible propellant charge case for large-caliber gun ammunition, in particular a fully combustible propellant charge module for artillery weapons. A known measure for reducing the erosion of gun barrels is to glue an additive sleeve consisting of linen and wax coated with TiO₂, polyethylene film and synthetic silk into a conventional metal cartridge. Problems can arise when implementing the additive sleeve consisting of several layers and unacceptable residues remain in the pipe. According to the invention, these disadvantages are eliminated in that a coating (16) consisting of a mixture of wax and titanium dioxide is applied directly to the inner surface (18) of the combustible propellant charge module and on the inside to prevent direct contact of the coating (16) with the propellant charge powder (26) by means of a thin metal foil (38), e.g. B. is covered.
