Abstract

Abstract The invention relates to an infrared detector based on a pyroelectric material, of the type associated with a reading circuit produced on a semiconductor substrate (30), the said substrate also supporting conducting pads (32) intended for transmitting the electrical signals generated by the pyroelectric material to the reading circuit, each conducting pad corresponding to an image element or pixel. The detector consists of a layer of pyroelectric material (31) deposited on the semiconductor substrate, conducting pad side, the pyroelectric material possessing a thermal conductivity K < 1 W/m. DEG K, a counter-electrode (33) covering the said layer of pyroelectric material on the side away from the conducting pads. <IMAGE>
