Converter for the catalytic conversion of gaseous components into gases
Abstract
Abstract The converter consists of an upright cylindrical housing (1), a gas line (2) located in the cover of the housing (1), an annular catalyst layer (3) arranged around the gas line (2) between gas-permeable walls (4), branches (5) arranged on the cover of the housing (1) for charging the catalyst mass into the catalyst layer (3), branches (6) arranged on the bottom of the housing (1) for discharging the catalyst mass from the catalyst layer (3) and a gas line (10) in the shell of the housing (1). To maintain the degree of conversion when spent catalyst mass is replaced, the annular space between the gas-permeable walls (4) is divided by vertical metal sheets (8) into a plurality of chambers (9), the upper part of the annular catalyst layer (3) is arranged in the housing (1) between annular gas-impermeable walls (10), and each chamber (9) is provided with a charging branch (5) and a discharging branch (6) for the catalyst mass. <IMAGE>
