Abstract

Abstract An optical information recording medium having a recording surface formed by a recording layer (13) provided on a substrate (11), the recording surface being provided with parallel information tracks (1) each divided into plural blocks, each of which is formed by a data area for information recording and a servo area for forming prepits for tracking signal detection, wherein the data area has a separating part (8) the height of which is different from that of the information track and which is provided between information tracks adjacent to each other, and the difference in height is equal to or larger than the thickness of said recording layer, and wherein the servo area is not provided with the separating part.

Claim 1
Independent Claim 113 words
An optical information recording medium having a recording surface formed by a recording layer provided on a substrate, said recording surface being provided with parallel information tracks each divided into plural blocks, each of which is formed by a data area for information recording and a servo area for forming prepits for tracking signal detection: wherein said data area has a separating part the height of which is different from that of the information track and which is provided between information tracks adjacent to each other, said difference in height being equal to or larger than the thickness of said recording layer, and said servo area is not provided with said separating part.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 113 words
An optical information recording medium having a recording surface formed by a recording layer provided on a substrate, said recording surface being provided with parallel information tracks each divided into plural blocks, each of which is formed by a data area for information recording and a servo area for forming prepits for tracking signal detection: wherein said data area has a separating part the height of which is different from that of the information track and which is provided between information tracks adjacent to each other, said difference in height being equal to or larger than the thickness of said recording layer, and said servo area is not provided with said separating part.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 31 words
An optical information recording medium according to claim 1, wherein said difference in height between the information track and the separating part is in a range of 200 to 1,000 Å.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 50 words
An optical information recording medium according to claim 1, wherein said difference in height between the information track and the separating part is equal to λ/4n, wherein λ is the wavelength of the light beam for reading information from said medium, and n is the refractive index of said substrate.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 50 words
An optical information recording medium according to claim 1, wherein said difference in height between the information track and the separating part is equal to λ/2n, wherein λ is the wavelength of the light beam for reading information from said medium, and n is the refractive index of said substrate.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 28 words
An optical information recording medium according to claim 1, wherein the surface of said servo area other than prepits and said separating area lie on a same plane.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 32 words
An optical information recording medium according to claim 1, wherein the surface of said servo area other than prepits and the information track of said data area lie on a same plane.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 37 words
An optical information recording medium according to claim 1, wherein said prepits comprise two wobbling pits positioned in mutually opposite sides in the direction of width of the information track with respect to the center line thereof.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 22 words
An optical information recording medium according to claim 7, wherein said prepits further comprise a clock pit for detecting a clock signal.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 17 words
