Abstract

A fluorescent aqueous marking liquid is described which contains the coumarin dye C.J. Basic Yellow 40 in amounts of 0.2 to 2.0% by weight. The liquid is buffered to a pH of 3-5; as a supporting resin it contains an acrylic resin dispersion that is stable at pH 3-5 and has a particle agglomerate size of 35-150 nm. The liquid does not attack third-party dyes, in particular triphenylmethane dyes, as are often used in carbonless papers, and can also be used on smooth surfaces such as glass, plastic film or glossy papers.
