Abstract A seat part, in particular for a motor vehicle seat can be produced inexpensively, but still has the necessary strength properties and permits exchange of the cushion and/or covering in a simple manner if it is subdivided into a shell-shaped cushion support (22) made of tough plastic and a seat frame (1), the latter consisting of at least two longitudinal supports (2, 3) which are interconnected via steel crossmembers (4, 5) and are made of a high-strength thermoplastic. <IMAGE>
