Abstract

Abstract When the handset of an automobile radio telephone is being assembled, the parts of the handset are secured to a metal intermediate chassis (6), which at the same time serves as the ground plane of the handset. RF-shielding covers (9) can be secured to the intermediate chassis (6) in order to prevent RF-interference.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 8
Claim 1
Independent Claim 67 words
An intermediate chassis for a mobile telephone handset, to which chassis the handset circuit cards with their components, as well as other necessary functional components, are secured, in which case the handset can be tested before the installation of the exterior casings (1, 2), characterized in that the intermediate chassis (6) is a substantially continuous metal sheet and is used as the ground plane in the handset.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 67 words
An intermediate chassis for a mobile telephone handset, to which chassis the handset circuit cards with their components, as well as other necessary functional components, are secured, in which case the handset can be tested before the installation of the exterior casings (1, 2), characterized in that the intermediate chassis (6) is a substantially continuous metal sheet and is used as the ground plane in the handset.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 59 words
A handset intermediate chassis according to Claim 1, characterized in that the chassis has preferably a continuous strip-like edge section (6b, 6c), the plane of which is preferably perpendicular to the plane of the sheet-like center section (6a) of the intermediate chassis (6), and the width of which is substantially greater than the thickness of the center section (6a).
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 23 words
A handset intermediate chassis according to Claim 2, characterized in that the intermediate chassis (6) has a cross sectional shape of an H-profile.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 23 words
A handset intermediate chassis according to Claim 2, characterized in that the intermediate chassis (6) has a cross sectional shape of a U-profile.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 24 words
A handset intermediate chassis according to Claim 1, characterized in that the intermediate chassis (6) is made from metal by pressing or by casting.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 30 words
A handset intermediate chassis according to Claim 1, characterized in that the intermediate chassis has lugs and/or clasps to which the components are secured when the handset is being assembled.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 69 words
A handset intermediate chassis according to Claim 1-4, characterized in that one or more shielding covers (9) can be secured to the intermediate chassis (6) so that the edge parts of the RF-shielding cover (9) attach to the edge of the strip-like edge sections (6b, 6c) of the intermediate chassis (6), whereby RF-shielded areas are formed which are delimited by the intermediate chassis (6) and the RF-shielding cover (9).
