Abstract A filtering device (10) for filtering out solids from liquids, in particular for filtering out fluff and solid impurities from suds of washing machines, has a container (12) which is provided with inlet means (14) and outlet means (18) for the liquid, filter elements (24, 34) being provided between inlet means (14) and outlet means (18), through which filter elements the entire ... flows from the inlet means (14) ... out of the outlet means. In order to obtain an effective filter effect, it is proposed that a first filter element (24), which is designed as a coarse filter and can be removed from the container (12), be arranged in the container (12), and that, in the direction of flow, at least one second filter element (34), which is designed as a fine filter and is closed in a base-side portion (42), be arranged downstream of the first filter element (24). <IMAGE>
