Abstract

Abstract The injection device, which is suited in particular for the administration of insulin to diabetics, contains, in a casing (10), a metering apparatus controlled by a microprocessor (MP) and the pump (18) of which squeezes the drug out of an ampoule (13). The programming of the injection times and of the drug doses is carried out by the doctor. When an acoustic signal tone sounds, the patient puts in the hollow needle (29), directs it to the injection point and the injection takes place by manual actuation of an actuation element (15). A display (11) indicates that the injection is taking place, and a signal tone gives notice that it is finished. The microprocessor (MP) makes it possible to adhere strictly to the injection times and the bolus quantities. <IMAGE>
