Photographic camera

Claim 2

A photographic camera system using a 35mm wide photographic film in a cassette (5), the system comprising: a 35mm wide photographic film (1) having a quadrilateral effective photographic area (3); a camera body (11) having a first space (14) formed in said camera body (11) to accommodate the cassette (5), and a second space formed in said camera body (11) to accommodate said film (1) supplied from the cassette (5); transporting means (16, 36) provided in said camera body (11) for transporting said film (1) between said first and second spaces (14); guide means (21) provided in said camera body (11) for defining the position of said film (1) in its widthwise direction between said first and second spaces (14); and exposing means (13) provided in said camera body (11) for exposing an image of an object to be picked up on the effective photographic area (3) of said film (1) guided by said guide means (21); characterized by: said film (1) being devoid of sprocket holes, and one side of said effective photographic area (3) in the width direction of the film (1) being substantially 30mm.

Claim 3

A system according to claim 1 wherein said exposing means (13) includes an aperture (19) substantially 30mm long in the film-width direction and substantially 40mm wide in the film transporting direction.

Claim 4

A system according to claim 1 wherein the aperture (19) of said exposing means (13) has a ratio of 3:4 between its dimension in the film-width direction and its dimension in its film transporting direction.

Claim 5

A photographic camera system using a 35mm side photographic film (1), the system comprising: cassette means (5) for accommodating said film (1); a camera body (11) having a first space (14) formed in said camera body (11) for accommodating said cassette means (5), and a second space formed in said camera body (11) for accommodating said film (1) supplied from said cassette means (5); transporting means (16, 36) provided in said camera body (11) for transporting said film (1) between said first and second spaces (14); guide means (21) provided in said camera body (11) for defining the position of said film (1) in the widthwise direction between said first and second spaces (14); and exposing means (13) provided in said camera body (11) for exposing an image of an object on the effective photographic area (3) of said film (1) guided by said guide means (21); characterized by: said film (1) having a quadrilateral effective photographic area (3) of which one side is substantially 30mm; means (44) for recording information in an area between an outer longitudinal edge portion of said film (1) and an edge of said effective photographic area (3).

Claim 6

A photographic camera system using a 35mm side photographic film (1), the system comprising: cassette means (5) for accommodating said film (1); a camera body (11) having a first space (14) formed in said camera body (11) for accommodating said cassette means (5), and a second space formed in said camera body (11) for accommodating said film (1) supplied from said cassette means (5); transporting means (16, 36) provided in said camera body (11) for transporting said film (1) between said first and second spaces (14); guide means (21) provided in said camera body (11) for defining the position of said film (1) in the widthwise direction between said first and second spaces (14); and exposing means (13) provided in said camera body (11) for exposing an image of an object on the effective photographic area (3) of said film (1) guided by said guide means (21); characterized by: said film (1) having a quadrilateral effective photographic area (3) of which one side is substantially 30mm; means (44) for recording information in an area between an outer longitudinal edge portion of said film (1) and an edge of said effective photographic area (3).

Claim 7

A system according to claim 4 wherein said means (44) for recording includes light emitting means selectively movable from a first position in which data are recorded in an area between an outer longitudinal edge portion of said film (1) and an end edge portion of said effective photographic area (3) of said film (1), to a second position in which the data are recorded in an area in said effective photographic area (3).

Claim 8

A photographic camera system using a 35mm wide photographic film (1), the system comprising: a camera body (11) having first and second spaces (14) formed in said camera body (11) for accommodating said film (1); and transporting means (16, 36) provided in said camera body (11) for transporting said film (1) from said first space (14) to said second space; characterized by: said film (1) being devoid of sprocket holes; and a quadrilateral aperture (19) formed in said camera body (11) on a film transporting path between said first space (14) and said second space, one side of which in a film-width direction is substantially 30mm long, so as to form a quadrilateral effective photographic area (3) one side of which in the film-width direction is 30mm, in said film (1) extending along said film transporting path.

Claim 9

A photographic camera system using a 35mm wide photographic film (1), the system comprising: a camera body (11) having first and second spaces (14) formed in said camera body (11) for accommodating said film (1); and transporting means (16, 36) provided in said camera body (11) for transporting said film (1) from said first space (14) to said second space; characterized by: said film (1) being devoid of sprocket holes; and a quadrilateral aperture (19) formed in said camera body (11) on a film transporting path between said first space (14) and said second space, one side of which in a film-width direction is substantially 30mm long, so as to form a quadrilateral effective photographic area (3) one side of which in the film-width direction is 30mm, in said film (1) extending along said film transporting path.

Claim 10

A system according to claim 6 wherein another side of said aperture (19) in the film transporting direction is substantially 40mm long.

Claim 11

A system according to claim 6 or claim 7 wherein said film transporting means (16, 36) includes film guide means (21, 22) arranged adjacent to said aperture (19) for guiding the longitudinal edges of said film (1) and for forming in said film (1) extending along said film transporting path a strip of about 2.5mm wide between a longitudinal edge of said film (1) and an edge of said effective photographic area (3).

Claim 12

A system according to claim 6, claim 7 or claim 8 wherein said transporting means (16, 36) includes detecting means (10, 31, 32) contacting said film (1) transported by said transporting means (16, 36) for detecting a transport amount of said film (1) and for generating a detection signal; and means (34) for controlling the transport amount so said film (1) in response to said detection signal from said detecting means (10, 31, 32).

Claim 13

A system according to claim 9 wherein said detection signal is produced for each predetermined amount said film (1) is transported.

Claim 14

A system according to claim 9 or claim 10 wherein said detecting means (10, 31, 32) contacting said film (1) includes a take-up shaft (16) arranged for winding said film (1) therearound, and at least one film guide roller (10) mounted for rotation in response to transporting said film (17) from said first space (14) to said second space and cooperating with a corresponding sensor element (32) for producing said detection signal.

Claim 15

A system according to claim 6 wherein said transporting means (16, 36) including means (41, 42) for detecting a control element (4) formed adjacent to one edge of said film (1) and outside of said effective photographic area (3), said means (41, 42) for detecting being located between said first and second spaces (14) and generating a detection signal, and control means (34) for controlling the film transport amount in response to said detection signal.

Claim 16

A system according to claim 12 wherein said control element (4) comprises an aperture (4) having a diameter of substantially Imm, and said detecting means (41, 42) comprises a light emitting diode (41) in juxtaposition with a photo-transistor (42) for detecting the passage of said aperture (4) therebetween.

Claim 17

A photographic camera system using a 35mm wide photographic film (1), the system comprising: a camera body (11) having first and second spaces (14) formed in said camera body (11) for accommodating a 35mm wide photographic film (1); and transporting means (16, 36) provided in said camera body (11) for transporting said film (1) from said first space (14) to said second space; characterized by: said film (1) being devoid of sprocket holes; a quadrilateral aperture (19) formed in said camera body (11) in a film transporting path from said first space (14) to said second space, one side of said aperture (19) in the film-width direction being substantially 30mm long so that a quadrilateral effective photographic area (3) having one side in the film-width direction that is 30mm long is formed in said film (1) extending along said film transporting path; and recording means (44) for recording information in an area between a longitudinal edge of said film (1) and an edge of said effective photographic area (3).

Claim 18

A photographic camera system using a 35mm wide photographic film (1), the system comprising: a camera body (11) having first and second spaces (14) formed in said camera body (11) for accommodating a 35mm wide photographic film (1); and transporting means (16, 36) provided in said camera body (11) for transporting said film (1) from said first space (14) to said second space; characterized by: said film (1) being devoid of sprocket holes; a quadrilateral aperture (19) formed in said camera body (11) in a film transporting path from said first space (14) to said second space, one side of said aperture (19) in the film-width direction being substantially 30mm long so that a quadrilateral effective photographic area (3) having one side in the film-width direction that is 30mm long is formed in said film (1) extending along said film transporting path; and recording means (44) for recording information in an area between a longitudinal edge of said film (1) and an edge of said effective photographic area (3).

Claim 19

A system according to claim 4 or claim 14 wherein said transporting means (16, 36) includes a film wind shaft (16) arranged for winding said film (1) therearound, and at least one film guide roller (10) mounted for rotation in response to transporting said film (1) from said first space (14) to said second space for cooperating with a corresponding sensor element (32) for producing a film transport detection signal.

A system according to claim 15 wherein the diameter of said film guide roller (10) is substantially 3.34mm.

A system according to claim 15 wherein the diameter of said film guide roller (10) is substantially 4.00mm.

Claim 22

A system according to claim 1, claim 4 or claim 6 wherein said transporting means (16, 36) further includes at least one pivotably mounted film guide element (18) having said at least one film guide roller (10) mounted thereon, and in which a permanent magnet (31) is mounted on said film guide roller (10) for cooperating with a sensor element (32) that is mounted on said pivotably mounted film guide element (18).

Claim 23

A system according to claim 18 wherein said pivotally mounted film guide element (18) includes a spring (182) for biasing said film guide roller (10) into contact with a film take-up shaft (16).

Claim 24

A system according to claim 1, claim 4, claim 6 or claim 14 wherein said transporting means (16, 36) includes means (41, 42) for detecting a control element (4) formed adjacent to one edge of said film (1), and outside said effective photographic area (3), said means (41, 42) for detecting being located between said first and second spaces (14) and generating a detection signal, and control means (34) for controlling the film transport amount in response to said detection signal.

Claim 25

A system according to claim 20 wherein said control element (4) comprises an aperture (4) having a diameter of substantially 1mm, and said detecting means (41, 42) comprises a light emitting diode (41) in juxtaposition with a photo-transistor (42) for detecting the passage of said aperture (4) therebetween.

Claim 26

A system according to claim 20 or claim 21 wherein said control elements (4) or said apertures (4) are aligned at a predetermined pitch.

A film cassette (5) comprising means for accommodating a photographic film (1); characterized by: said photographic film (1) being 35mm wide and devoid of sprocket perforations, and having a quadrilateral effective photographic area (3) whose one side in the film-width direction is substantially 30mm.

A film cassette (5) comprising means for accommodating a photographic film (1); characterized by: said photographic film (1) being 35mm wide and devoid of sprocket perforations, and having a quadrilateral effective photographic area (3) whose one side in the film-width direction is substantially 30mm.
