Abstract The invention provides for a rooting and culture mould (5) for plants, which consists of a water-absorbent substrate having open pores for the roots of the plants to go through, to be of a composition in which the substrate has husks (1) of rice grain, which are cemented by a polymeric, organic but substantially inert substance (16-18) at least partially enveloping the husks (1). <IMAGE>
