Method to correct path and position of a robot tool
Abstract
In a method for correcting the path and position of a tool (W) of a robot, an actual position (P ′) deviating from the target position (P) around the vector ( X ) is at discrete points (P0 ... P4) in entire working area of the robot metrologically recorded. Only as many points (P0 ... P4) are measured as are necessary using the symmetry conditions of a respective reference coordinate system (X, Y, Z). The measured deviations ( X ) are stored as elements of a position error space matrix in a storage medium to which the robot controller has access. In the offline or online calculation of a respective tool position, all deviations ( X ) in the robot's work area are determined by interpolating the deviations ( X ) at the measuring points (P0 ... P4) and taken into account in compensation when setting the robot joints.
