Abstract

Abstract The present invention relates to a plant fault diagnosing system for diagnosing the operating conditions of the plant, for example, change in the physical quantity or whether any fault is present in each of the instrumentations or not. This system makes reference and makes directly comparison the process data of the plant or a diagnosing pattern processed by treating the process data in a predetermined process with a predetermined information for detecting showing the symptom of an abnormality or a predetermined reference value. When any deviation from a predetermined allowable range or coincidence of the patterns is detected, it determines that there is any abnormality in the plant, and issues an alarm to, for example, an operator.

Claim 3
Dependent Claim 92 words
A plant fault diagnosing system according to claim 1, wherein said information for detecting faults or the like is supplied by a knowledge memory, and this knowledge memory is constituted in such a manner that the corresponding relationship between a hypothesis that a failure or a fault state is occured and data representing symptoms caused to appear when said hypothesis is occured is classified depending upon the possibility of appearance of the symptoms corresponding to each hypothesis or intensity of the detection of the same and the symptoms which cannot be appeared.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 40 words
A plant fault diagnosing system according to claim 2, wherein said knowledge memory stores said corresponding relationship between said hypothesis and said symptoms in such a manner that said corresponding relationship is classified depending upon operating conditions of the plant.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 78 words
A plant fault diagnosing system according to claim 1, wherein said diagnosing portion comprises an instrument failure diagnosing portion for diagnosing a failure of each of instruments in the plant and a general fault diagnosing portion for diagnosing abnormalities other than the failures of said instruments, wherein said general fault diagnosing portion performs diagnosis by removing the process value of the subject instrument from said data when any instrument failure is detected by said instrument failure diagnosing portion.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 171 words
A plant fault diagnosing system according to claim 1, wherein a memory for storing importance factor when each alarm depending upon alarm factors included in said information for detecting faults or the like and also for outputting said importance factor to said diagnosing portion is juxtaposed; said diagnosing portion comprising means for estimating the time taken to generation of each fault state depending upon the alarm factors using the physical quantity of said process and said data, means for estimating the time required to avoid the fault state, means for calculating an estimated floating time required for avoidance operation in such a manner that an estimated avoidance required time is subtracted from an estimated fault generation time obtained by said means, and means for calculating urgency factor using said estimated floating time and said importance factor, and said notifying means ranks and displays the faults in the sequential order upon intensity of said urgency factor, and as well ranks and displays the same in the sequential order upon said floating time.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 99 words
A plant fault diagnosing system according to claim 1, wherein said changeable reference value comprises an average value obtained by using an average value calculator which is juxtaposed to said diagnosing portion, this average value being obtained at a predetermined time interval of the physical quantity at specific points in said plant which is said data, wherein said notifying means issues an alarm when the difference between said average value and said physical quantity deviates from a predetermined allowable range, and said average value is arranged not to be renewed during a period where said alarm is being issued.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 59 words
A plant fault diagnosing system according to claim 6, wherein an allowable range calculator is juxtaposed to said diagnosing portion, this allowable range calculator calculates a region where said difference between said average value and said physical quantity is distributes by statistically treating said average value and said physical quantity, and determining said allowable range based on said region.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 85 words
A plant fault diagnosing system according to claim 1, wherein said changeable reference value comprises an average value obtained by using an average value calculator which is juxtaposed to said diagnosing portion, this average value being obtained at a predetermined time interval of the physical quantity, which is said data, at specific points in said plant, wherein an alarm is issued when the difference between said average value and said physical quantity deviates from a predetermined allowable range for a predetermined continued time of period.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 54 words
A plant fault diagnosing system according to claim 7, wherein reset signals are arranged to be input to said average value calculator and said allowable range calculator, and said average value and said allowable range are calculated again by using a physical quantity from the time point at which said reset signals are supplied.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 44 words
A plant fault diagnosing system according to claim 6, wherein reset signal is arranged to be input to said average value calculator, and said average value is calculated again by using a physical quantity from the time point at which said signal is supplied.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 88 words
A plant fault diagnosing system according to claim 1, wherein an average value of the process data is obtained by using an average value calculator juxtaposed to said diagnosing portion, the average value being obtained at a predetermined time interval, and said diagnosing pattern is output to the diagnosing portion as being a symptom signal for diagnosis based on the fact that whether the difference between the average value and physical quantity as being the data at specific points in the plant deviates from a predetermined allowable range.
