Abstract

Abstract A centrifuge having a rotor (10) driven by an electrical drive motor (12) is proposed, on which rotor equidistantly arranged marks (13) for assessing the actual speed are provided, said marks being scanned by a sensor (16) fixed to the housing. For the purpose of evaluation, a control unit (17) containing a control device for controlling the speed of the drive motor is provided. In order, in addition to the speed, to obtain further rotor-specific data automatically, further code marks (15) which can be scanned by the sensor (16) are provided on the rotor (10). In this way, it is possible, even when changing a rotor, to preselect the assigned threshold values or function characteristic lines again automatically in each case, so that incorrect operations are largely ruled out. <IMAGE>
