Container for freeze drying under sterile conditions

Abstract

Abstract For the freeze-drying of, in particular, biological or pharmaceutical material under sterile conditions, the material to be dried is placed in a container whose sides are at least partly composed of a hydrophobic, porous, germproof membrane which is permeable to water vapour, the container is closed pressure-tight and then the material is freeze-dried in the closed container under usual conditions.
