Abstract
Abstract A mobile telephone terminal driven by a battery, which terminal is mainly comprised of a processor unit (11) and a logic LSI unit (12) as a control part thereof. The processor unit (11) handles first control functions which are not used frequently but which are complicated and operate at a high clock speed. The logic LSI unit (12) handles second control functions which are used constantly and frequently at a low clock speed. The processor unit is activated intermittently on demand by the logic LSI unit.

Claim 5
Dependent Claim
70 words
A mobile telephone terminal as set forth in claim 3, wherein said logic LSI unit watches a logic level on a bus available (BA) signal line (16) connected between said logic LSI unit (12) and said processor unit (11) and, when said logic level on said BA signal line (16) assumes a first logic level, said logic LSI unit detects that said processor unit (11) is in said holding state.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
44 words
A mobile telephone terminal as set forth in claim 4, wherein said processor unit (11) enters by itself into said holding state by an execution therein of a "Wait for Interrupt" instruction generated every time each process of handling said first control functions finishes.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
54 words
A mobile telephone terminal as set forth in claim 5, wherein said logic LSI unit issues an interrupt request relating to said "Wait for Interrupt" instruction to said processor unit (11), every time an interrupt occurs in said logic LSI unit (12), each of said interrupts requiring an activation of said processor unit (11).
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
53 words
A mobile telephone terminal as set forth in claim 6, wherein said memories for cooperating with said processor unit include a read only memory (ROM) for storing a program to operate said processor unit (11), which program is not autonomous but is subject to external commands issued from said logic LSI unit (12).
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
68 words
A mobile telephone terminal as set forth in claim 6, wherein said interrupt request is issued immediately after the occurrence of any one of said interrupts when a related interrupt occurs during a condition where the logic level on said BA signal line (16) assumes a second logic level, which indicates that said processor unit (11) is not in said holding state but is in an operating state.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
54 words
A mobile telephone terminal as set forth in claim 6, wherein said interrupt request is issued after a predetermined delay time from the occurrence of any one of said interrupts when a related interruption occurs during said holding state where the logic level on said BA signal line (16) assumes a first logic level.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim
34 words
