Automotive information display device

Claim 2

An automotive information display device for displaying various kinds of information on an automobile, comprising: a processing unit (9) for processing various informations on an automobile; a memory information-reading actuating unit (4) for reading, in accordance with an instruction given by said processing unit, selected information recorded; a display unit (3) for displaying the information read by said information-reading actuating unit; and an instrument panel (1) having an opening portion (1a) formed therein in which opening portion are received said processing unit, said actuating unit and said display unit, said display unit being mounted in the opening portion so as to be retracted into or extracted from said opening portion so that the display unit is rotatively movable to cover the opening portion when the display unit is extracted from the opening portion.

Claim 3

An automotive information display device according to Claim 1, wherein said display unit is placed on the upper or the lower side of said processing unit and said information-reading actuating device both of which are received in said instrument panel in a stacked state.

Claim 4

An automotive information display device according to Claim 1, wherein said display unit is placed on the left or the right side of both said processing unit and said information-reading actuating device which are received in said instrument panel in a stacked state.

Claim 5

An automotive information display device according to any one the Claims 1 and 2, comprising means for rotatively moving said display unit to a desired any inclination angle on the front side of said opening portion.

Claim 6

An automotive information display device according to Claim 4, wherein said means for rotatively moving the display unit includes a click means.

Claim 7

An automotive information display device according to any one of Claims 1 to 4, wherein said display unit has a liquid crystal panel arranged in a recess formed therein.

Claim 8

An automotive information display device according to Claim 6, wherein said display unit includes a mechanism for rotatively moving said liquid crystal display to the right and left hand sides and a click means for keeping said liquid crystal display at any desired stationary position.

Claim 9

An automotive information display device according to any one of Claims 1 to 7, further comprising a case accommodating said processing unit, said information-reading actuating unit and said display unit, said case being received in said opening portion of said instrument panel.

Claim 10

An automotive information display device according to any one of Claim 8, wherein said rotatively moving means are provided in said case.

Claim 11

An automotive information display device comprising: an instrument panel (1) of an automobile having an opening portion formed in the front wall thereof; case means (5) disposed in said opening portion of said instrument panel and having guide means (14) extending substantially in the longitudinal direction of said automobile; information display means disposed in said case means movably in the longitudinal direction and having guide pins engaging with said guide means, said display means including a body (3) and a liquid crystal panel (6); and rotatively moving means for rotatively moving and supporting said main portion and said liquid crystal panel of said display means, said rotatively moving means including a first rotatively moving mechanism including first engaging members (17) provided on ends of said guide pins of said display means and having an engaging serration on the surfaces thereof facing said case means and second engaging members (18) provided on said case means and having serrations engageable with said serrations on said first engaging members when said main portion of said display means has been extracted from said case means, and a second rotatively moving means including third engaging members provided on said liquid crystal panel and having serrations on their surfaces facing said body of said display means, and fourth engaging members provided on said body of said display means and having serrations engaging with said serrations on said third engaging members.

Claim 12

An automotive information display device comprising: an instrument panel (1) of an automobile having an opening portion formed in the front wall thereof; case means (5) disposed in said opening portion of said instrument panel and having guide means (14) extending substantially in the longitudinal direction of said automobile; information display means disposed in said case means movably in the longitudinal direction and having guide pins engaging with said guide means, said display means including a body (3) and a liquid crystal panel (6); and rotatively moving means for rotatively moving and supporting said main portion and said liquid crystal panel of said display means, said rotatively moving means including a first rotatively moving mechanism including first engaging members (17) provided on ends of said guide pins of said display means and having an engaging serration on the surfaces thereof facing said case means and second engaging members (18) provided on said case means and having serrations engageable with said serrations on said first engaging members when said main portion of said display means has been extracted from said case means, and a second rotatively moving means including third engaging members provided on said liquid crystal panel and having serrations on their surfaces facing said body of said display means, and fourth engaging members provided on said body of said display means and having serrations engaging with said serrations on said third engaging members.
