Wall stabilized metal vapour halide discharge lamp
Abstract
Abstract The lamp is of compact construction and has high illumination efficiency and good colour properties. It is suitable for general purpose lighting tasks, has a colour temperature in the range 3000 to 4000 K and can be designed for a wide power range and in particular also for very low powers. A discharge in caesium or rubidium is used, the plasma of which is heated with high-power pulses of high repetition frequency and low pulse-duty factor until the recombination continuum distributed over the visible spectral range is being emitted with high intensity and this intensity exceeds that of the line spectrum radiation in the spectral ranges that are ineffective for illumination purposes. <IMAGE>
