Abstract

Abstract In the connector of the present invention, terminals (2) are locked in their associated passages by causing projections (11 d -2), provided near the free end of cantilever-like resilient arms (11 d ) in such a manner as to project inwardly of the respective passages (11 a ) to fit in their associated recesses (21) formed in the terminals accommodated in the passages. An individually formed filing member (4) is mounted over the place where the resilient arms are formed to prevent the arms from being deflected outwardly.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 4
Claim 1
Independent Claim 158 words
A connector in which cuts are made in one of the side walls of the respective tubular portions including therein passages for accommodating terminals to form cantilever-like resilient arms extending along the direction in which said terminals are introduced into said passages, said terminals are adapted to be locked in said passages by allowing projections provided on the free ends of said resilient arms to fit in recesses formed in said terminals accommodated in said passages, and said fitting relation between said terminals and their associated passages are locked to be secured by installation of a fixing member over the place where said resilient arms are formed, characterized in that temporary locking means and means to be temporarily locked are provided on said fixing member and said housing of the connector to temporarily lock said fixing member at a position deflected from the place on the side wall of said tubular portions where said resilient arms are formed.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 158 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 146 words
A connector according to Claim 1, wherein skirts are provided on each of a pair of housings to be fitted in each other, in the skirt of one of the housings which receives the skirt of the other housing a shelf-like projection is provided for an endless elastic sealing member to be placed around to be held between the skirt of the other housing and itself and tubular portions are partly formed, and said fixing member is formed into a frame-like shape so as to cap one or a plurality of tubular portions and has a flange formed at the open end thereof in such a manner as to erect normal to the distal end of said shelf-like projection when said fixing member is fitted over said one or a plurality of tubular portions to be installed over the place where the resilient arms are formed.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 72 words
A connector according to Claim 1, wherein a plurality of tubular portions are juxtaposed to each other with a suitable space provided therebetween in the direction normal to one in which the resilient arms are formed in the side walls, and a guide piece is provided on a fixing member of one of a pair of housings to be inserted into a gap formed between the tubular portions of the other housing.
