Abstract

In the case of an electrostatic diesel particle filter (40), it is proposed to apply the corona electrode (41) and the separating electrode (46) to a direct voltage (42) superimposed with alternating voltage (43) in order to obtain a uniform corona discharge. The electrostatic filter is preferably preceded by a noble metal catalyst in the exhaust line, with which the hydrocarbons also contained in the exhaust gas can be oxidized.
