Abstract

Abstract Described is an arrangement for removing electric charges which may be present or generated when terminals (9) of an electronical apparatus, for instance a memory card, are connected to terminals (3) of a connector of an electric device. On both parts, the electronical apparatus and the connector, electrically conductive contacting members (1, 5a) are provided which are brought into contact with each other when the apparatus is inserted into the connector before said terminals of the electronical apparatus come into contact with the terminals of the connector. By the contact between the contacting members any charges of the apparatus are discharged to ground before they can affect the electronic circuitry.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 4
Claim 1
Independent Claim 72 words
An arrangement for removing electric charges which may be present or generated when terminals (9) of an electronical apparatus are connected to terminals (3) of a connector of an electric device, comprising electrically conductive contacting members (1, 5a) on both, the electronical apparatus and the connector, said contacting members being brought into contact with each other before said terminals of the electronical apparatus come into contact with the terminals of the connector.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 72 words
An arrangement for removing electric charges which may be present or generated when terminals (9) of an electronical apparatus are connected to terminals (3) of a connector of an electric device, comprising electrically conductive contacting members (1, 5a) on both, the electronical apparatus and the connector, said contacting members being brought into contact with each other before said terminals of the electronical apparatus come into contact with the terminals of the connector.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 56 words
An arrangement according to claim 1, wherein the electronical apparatus has a shutter (5) movable between a first position where it covers the terminals (9) of the electronical apparatus, and a second position exposing said terminals (9), and wherein said contacting members (5a) of said electronical apparatus are part of or connected to the shutter (5).
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 51 words
An arrangement according to any of claims 1 or 2, wherein said electronical apparatus includes a circuit board carrying said terminals (9) and an electronic circuitry, said circuit board (8) being at least partly sandwiched by metal panels (6) which are electrically connected to each other and to the shutter (5).
