Abstract

For the detection of nucleic acids of a defined sequence by hybridization with a complementary nucleic acid probe, which contains at least one hapten bound as a label via a chemical compound, a steroid is used as the hapten, which is attached to at least one position of the nucleic acid probe that is not involved in hydrogen bonding is involved, is bound via a bridge of at least 4 atoms in length and detects the hybridized probe via an anti-hapten antibody labeled for its part.
