Dependent Claim
111 words
A front wheel suspension for motorcycles and similar vehicles having a handlebar (2) and a frame (4), characterised by comprising: a) an indirect connection between the handlebar (2) and an arm (6) acting as a hub carrier for the front wheel (5), said connection being made by an intermediate element (7) hinged at its ends (11, 12) to the handlebar and to the arm (6) acting as a hub carrier respectively; and b) a damping member (10) hinged at its ends respectively to the frame (4) of the vehicle (1) and to a rocker arm (8) connected to said frame (4) and to the arm (6) acting as the hub carrier.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
52 words
A suspension as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that the intermediate element (7) has one end (11) hinged (at 13) to a steering pin (14) rigid with the handlebar (2), and its other end (12) hinged (at 15) to the upper end (16) of the arm acting as the hub carrier.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
30 words
A suspension as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that the arm (6) acting as the hub carrier is connected to the rocker arm (8) by a ball joint (19).
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
72 words
A suspension as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that the damping member (10) is hinged (at 22) at one end (21) to the rocker arm (8), the other end of said damping member (10) being hinged (at 24) to the motorcycle frame (4) at a point between the hinge (9) by which the rocker arm (8) is hinged to the frame (4) and the support means (3) for the handlebar (2).
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
25 words
A suspension as claimed in claim 3, characterised in that the ball joint (19) is substantially on the centre plane through the vehicle wheel (5).
