Abstract
Abstract An apparatus for the disinfection of waste water (effluent) by means of UV radiation contains a flow space with a UV radiation zone which contains a number of UV lamps arranged in the region through which the water flows, a device for producing turbulence in the waste water preceding the UV radiation zone and a device for establishing a uniform water level following that zone. Such an apparatus allows reliable disinfection of large volumes of waste water. <IMAGE>
