Abstract
Abstract Refinery sludges having a consistency from semi-solid to fluid, containing hydrocarbons, water and a solid fraction, are submitted to an extraction with carbon dioxide, under supercritic conditions, in order to separate a liquid phase from a solid residual fraction. From the so-obtained liquid fraction, an aqueous phase and a hydrocarbon phase are separated and recovered.

Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 5
Claim 1
Independent Claim
69 words
Process for the treatment of refinery sludges, of from semi-solid to fluid consistency, containing hydrocarbons and water together with a solid fraction, characterized in that said sludges are submitted to a treatment of extraction with carbon dioxide, under supercritic conditions, in order to separate a liquid fraction from a residual solid, and from the so-obtained liquid fraction an aqueous phase and a hydrocarbon phase are subsequently separated and recovered.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
37 words
Process according to claim 1, characterized in that the extraction is carried out at temperatures comprised within the range of from 32° to 120°C, and under pressures comprised within the range of from 73.8 to 500 bar.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
35 words
Process according to claim 2, characterized in that said extraction temperatures are comprised within the range of from 45° to 90°C, and said pressures are comprised within the range of from 150 to 350 bar.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
26 words
Process according to claim 1, characterized in that said extraction is carried out in the presence of a dragging agent selected from alcohols, esters, and ketones.
