Abstract

Abstract An ejecting mechanism for disk cartridges comprises an operating lever for moving a cartridge holder between a raised position where a disk cartridge is inserted in and ejected from the cartridge holder, and a lowered position where a disk within the inserted disk cartridge is mounted on and demounted from a turntable; and a releasing lever for unlocking the disk cartridge which has been locked by a locking lever, wherein when the cartridge holder with the disk cartridge is in its lowered position, the operating lever is pushed through a panel located in front of the ejecting mechanism to raise the cartridge holder, and just before the cartridge holder reaches its raised position, the releasing lever is driven to unlock the disk cartridge.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 12
Claim 1
Independent Claim 351 words
An ejecting mechanism for disk cartridges comprising: a cartridge holder (10) moveable between a raised position where a disk cartridge (47) is inserted in and ejected from said cartridge holder (10) through a cartridge insertion opening (52) provided in a panel (51) surrounding said ejecting mechanism, and a lowered position where a disk accommodated in said disk cartridge (10) is mounted on a turntable (61); an operating lever (25) moveable in the same direction as said disk cartridge (47) is inserted and ejected, so as to raise and lower said cartridge holder (10); a driving member (40) driven by a motor (28) and engaged with said operating lever (25) to move said operating lever (25); a disengaging member (35) for disengaging said operating lever (25) from said driving member (40); a locking member (15) for locking said disk cartridge (47) inserted in said cartridge holder (10); and a releasing lever (42) for unlocking said disk cartridge (47) which has been locked by said locking lever (15), wherein when said operating lever (25) is moved to a second position where said cartridge holder (10) is in said lowered position thereof, a pin or rod like member (97), not per se part of the mechanism, may be inserted through the front side of said panel (51) and be used by a pushing action such that said disengaging member (35) is displaced to disengage said operating lever (25) from said driving member (40); characterized in that: said disengaging member (35) is secured to said operating lever (25) and is resiliently held in a position to engage said driving member (40) such that, in use, said pin or rod like member (97) contacts and displaces said disengaging member (35) to disengage said operating lever (25) from said driving member (40) and in succession, moves said operating lever (25) to a first position where said cartridge holder (10) reaches said raised position wherein just before said cartridge holder (10) reaches said raised position, said releasing lever (42) is driven so as to unlock said disk cartridge (47) which has been locked by said locking member (15).
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 40 words
An ejecting mechanism according to claim 1, in which an opening (33) that engages said driving member (40) with said operating lever (25) is formed by said disengaging member (35) and a recess (80) provided in said operating lever (25).
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 53 words
An ejecting mechanism according to claim 2, in which a flange (81) and vertically projecting lugs (82) are formed at the respective side edges of said operating lever (25), so as to make said disengaging member (35) moveable only in a direction of disengaging said driving member (40) from said operating lever (25).
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 29 words
An ejecting mechanism according to claim 3, in which slant lugs (84,83) extend outwards from the side edges of said operation lever (25) and said disengaging lever (35), respectively.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 21 words
An ejecting mechanism according to claim 4, in which a push lever (91) is swingably secured to said operating lever (25).
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 26 words
An ejecting mechanism according to claim 5, in which a first push face and a second push face (95) are provided in said push lever (91).
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 113 words
An ejecting mechanism according to claim 6, in which by said pushing operation from the front side of said panel, said first push face (94) of the push lever (91) abuts against said flange (81) of the operating lever (25) to swing said operating lever (25) toward said first position where said cartridge holder (10) reaches said raised position, and just before said cartridge holder (10) reaches said raised position, said second push face (95) of the push lever (91) abuts against a lug (89) projecting from said releasing lever (42) to swing said releasing lever (42), so that said disk cartridge (47) is unlocked due to rotation of said locking member (15).
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 31 words
An ejecting mechanism according to claim 7, in which said pushing operating from the front side of said panel is performed through a hole (98) which is provided in said panel.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 26 words
An ejecting mechanism according to claim 7 or 8, in which said releasing lever (42) is secured swingably in relative relation with said operating lever (25).
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 38 words
An ejecting mechanism according to claim 7, 8 or 9 in which a lug (45) is provided at the free end of said releasing lever (42), so as to be brought into contact with said locking member (15).
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 45 words
An ejecting mechanism according to claim 8, 9 or 10 when appended thereto, in which said pushing operation from the front side of said panel is performed by hand by the use of a linear push member passed through said hole (98) of the panel.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 17 words
A disk recording and/or reproducing apparatus incorporating a mechanism according to any one of the preceding claims.
