Abstract
Abstract A secure connection is intended to be effected between a plurality of panels precisely positioned to form a movable partition wall. To this end, in this movable partition wall a connector bridges the horizontal surfaces of adjacent panels. In particular, in the horizontal surface of each panel a groove or ridge having tapered surfaces on the opposite lateral sides thereof is formed. On the other hand, the connector is provided with a tapered portion corresponding to the above-mentioned tapered surfaces. The above-mentioned connector bridges the above-mentioned panels with the tapered portion thereof engaging the above-mentioned tapered surfaces. In case a pillar is interposed between the panels, each panel is provided with downwardly bent connecting claws, which engage the connecting holes provided in the pillar. A bolt is then inserted through the central portion of the above-mentioned connector so as to be screwed into a nut supported on the pillar, thereby to pull the pillar relatively toward the connector, so that the above-mentioned panels are urged downwardly relative to the pillar, and the connecting claws on each panel securely engage the connecting holes of the pillar. As a result, the panels are connected as they are precisely positioned in the vertical direction as well as in the direction of the thickness thereof.
