Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim
58 words
A process for preparing a complex of formula: ACH₂O-CO-NHB wherein ACH₂O- and -NHB are derivatives of PEG and t-PA respectively, ACH₂OH representing PEG and H₂NB representing t-PA, which comprises coupling an activated PEG of formula: ACH₂O-CO-X wherein ACH₂O- is as defined above and X is an activating group, with t-PA in the presence of an alkali metal thiocyanate.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
21 words
A process according to claim 1, wherein there are from 2 to 6 molecules of PEG for each molecule of t-PA.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
47 words
A process according to either of the preceding claims, wherein, prior to coupling, t-PA has the amino acid sequence set forth in Figure 1 or has the same sequence but with the amino acid in the 245th position from the serine N-terminus being valine instead of methionine.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
18 words
A process according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein, prior to coupling, PEG is monomethoxypolyethylene glycol.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
12 words
A process according to claim 1, wherein the activating group is imidazolyl.
