Abstract

Abstract A system is disclosed for independently attaining, monitoring, and dispensing a fluid mix or a plurality of fluid mixes of a desired temperature, flow rate, and volume, said fluid mixes each comprising of two separate mixable fluids as they enter the system. The system comprises of any number of fluid mixing apparatuses including their drive means, sensors, one microprocessor configuration, and an appropriate number of user command and system status feedback means. In one embodiment, as disclosed herein, a plurality of system users can independently and even simultaneously instruct, using a variety of means, a single microprocessor configuration to provide their desired fluid mixes. The microprocessor configuration compares the instructions with the system status data provided by the sensors and its own calculations. Whenever the data differs from the instructions, it causes the fluid mixing apparatuses' drive means to operate in such a way as to provide mixes which match the users' commands. Users are provided with system status information all the while.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 13
Claim 1
Independent Claim 110 words
A control system for controlling fluid temperture, flow ratem and volulme in a piping system comprising: valve means for regulating flow of fluid in said piping system; drive means for activating said valve means; sensor means in said piping system downstream of said valve means for sensing temperature and flow rate of said fluid; user interface means having a one touch command input panel means adapted to allow the user to select from said panel means, a flow rate and fluid temperature from a range of available flow rates and temperatures; processor means adapted to receive data from said sensor means and said interface means for actuating said drive means.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 110 words
A control system for controlling fluid temperture, flow ratem and volulme in a piping system comprising: valve means for regulating flow of fluid in said piping system; drive means for activating said valve means; sensor means in said piping system downstream of said valve means for sensing temperature and flow rate of said fluid; user interface means having a one touch command input panel means adapted to allow the user to select from said panel means, a flow rate and fluid temperature from a range of available flow rates and temperatures; processor means adapted to receive data from said sensor means and said interface means for actuating said drive means.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 34 words
A control system as defined in claim 1 wherein said sensor means further includes a sensor located at said valve means in order to detect whether said valve means is fully open or closed.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 37 words
A control system as defined in claim 2 wherein said panel means is comprised of a touch sensitive screen having fluid flow rate range along a first axis and a fluid temperature range along a second axis.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 22 words
A control system as defined in claim 3 wherein said touch sensitive screen is further comprised of a fluid volume selecting range.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 26 words
A control system as defined in claim 4 wherein said processor means is exoandable to monitor additional valve means, drive menas, sensor means and interface means.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 32 words
A control system as defined in claim 5 wherein said processor means further comprises means to calculate flow rate as a function of time to determine fluid volume delivered through the system.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 22 words
A control system as defined in claim 6 wherein said processor means further comprises means to compare user commands with sensor information.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 23 words
A control system as defined in claim 7 wherein said processor means further comprises means to prioritize temperature control over flow rate control.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 29 words
A control system as defined in claim 8 wherein said prioritizing means includes means to terminate fluid flow in the event the piping system cannot supply the required temperature.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 27 words
A control system as defined in claim 9 wherein said interface means further comprises display means to display sensor information, selected flow rate, volume and fluid temperature.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 15 words
A control system as defined in claim 10 wherein said drive means comprises motor means.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 15 words
A control system as defined in claim 11 wherein said motor means is electrically controlled.
