Abstract

Abstract A graphic controller having a function of painting an area designated by four points is disclosed. The respective X-coordinate values on a first line connecting the first and second points and a second line connecting the third and fourth points are calculated and produced. Each one of the X-coordinate values on the first line is compared with the associated one of the X-coordinate value on the second line to detect an intersection point of the first and second lines. In response to the comparison output, one of the X-coordinate values on the first and second lines is employed as a drawing start coordinate information, or a drawing direction is inverted. The area designated by the four points is thereby painted at a high speed.

Claim 3
Dependent Claim 70 words
The controller as claimed in claim 1, when said first area painting means paints said first area from the first X-coordinate value on said first line to the second X-coordinate value on said second line in one direction and said second area painting means paints said second area from the second X-coordinate value on said second line to the first X-coordinate value on said first line in said one direction.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 70 words
The controller as claimed in claim 1, wherein said first area painting means paints said first area from the first X-coordinate value on said first line to the second X-coordinate value on said second line in one direction and said second area painting means paints said second area from the first X-coordinate value on said first line to the second X-coordinate value on said second line in an opposite direction.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 203 words
A graphic controller comprising means for calculating respective X-coordinate values on a first line connecting first and second points in a two-dimensional plane, means for calculating respective X-coordinate values on a second line connecting third and fourth points in said two-dimensional plane, means for comparing each X-coordinate value on said first line with each X-coordinate value of a point at the same Y-coordinate on said second line to produce a first output or a second output in accordance with a relationship in magnitude therebetween, means coupled to receive first and second X-coordinate values at a point of the same Y-coordinate value for drawing from said first X-coordinate value to said second X-coordinate value in one direction, means for supplying the X-coordinate value on said first line as said first X-coordinate value and the X-coordinate value on said second line as said second X-coordinate value to said drawing means in response to said first output produced from said comparing means, and means for supplying the X-coordinate value on said first line as said second X-coordinate value and the X-coordinate value on said second line as said first X-coordinate value to said drawing means in response to said second output produced from said comparing means.
Claim 6
