Method of setting up an address table in a ring communication network
Abstract
In a subscriber device (TLN2-M) which monitors a ring-shaped network with a plurality of subscriber devices (TLN), packet information is formed which contains an address identification bit (ae) provided with a binary “O” information, a broadcast information item identifying the packet information as broadcast packet information and in the information field either contains an address registration request (aa) or an address registration request (aa) and one's own subscriber facility address. In the following subscriber devices (TLN), the received binary information of the address recognition bit (ae) is changed into binary "1" information and further broadcast packet information (pim, pi3, pi1) is formed in such a way that the address recognition bit (ae) contains a binary "O" information and the last received address information (a) and either the address (a) of the previous subscriber device (TLN) or the own address (a) is entered in the information field. In the information field of the broadcast packet information (pi1) which is received in the subscriber device (TLN2-M) monitoring the ring-shaped network with an unchanged address recognition bit (ae), the current, complete address table is present either without or after adding the own address (a2), whereby the order of the address information (a) indicates the position of the subscriber devices (TLN) in the ring-shaped network.
