Abstract
Abstract A duckboard comprising a succession of treads (11) linked so as to rest, in use, in generally parallel non-co-axial corresponding-end-alignment along the ground or other surface on which the board is placed: and characterized by the features, firstly that the board is flexible enough to be rolled end-to-end; secondly, that it is light enough to be relatively portable; and thirdly, that the means (12) linking the treads (11) are resilient enough and/or rigid enough to tend to maintain the parallelism and the end-alignment of the treads (11) in use.

Claim 1
Independent Claim
89 words
A duckboard comprising a succession of treads (11;25) linked so as to rest, in use, in generally parallel non-co-axial corresponding-end-alignment along the ground or other surface on which the board is placed; and characterized by the features, firstly that the board is flexible enough to be rolled end-to-end; secondly, that it is light enough to be relatively portable; and thirdly, that the means (12;26) linking the treads (11;25) are resilient enough and/or rigid enough to tend to maintain the parallelism and the end-alignment of the treads (11;25) in use.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
32 words
A duckboard according to Claim 1, further characterized in that the treads (11;25), and means (12;26) linking the treads (11;25) are readily coupled together in situ to allow assembly of the duckboard.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
31 words
A duckboard according to Claim 1 or 2, further characterized in that the means (12;26) linking the treads comprise lengths of resilient material spacing the treads one from another in use.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
20 words
A duckboard according to Claim 3, further characterized in that the lengths of resilient material (12;26) snap-fit into the treads.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
73 words
A duckboard according to Claim 4, further characterized in that each length of resilient material (26) includes at each end a snap-fitting projection (33) comprising a snap-in ball (35) coupled to the resilient length by a stalk (34), and each tread (25) includes a bore (30) through which the snap-in ball (35) passes, in which the cross-section of the stalk (34) is smaller than the cross-section of the bore (30) of the tread.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
25 words
A duckboard according to Claim 5, further characterized in that the length of the stalk (34) is longer than the depth of the bore (30).
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
33 words
A duckboard according to Claim 4, 5 or 6, further characterized in that the bore (30) in the tread is a tapered hole to tend to retain the snap-in ball (35) in place.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
21 words
A duckboard according to Claim 2, further characterized in that the means linking the treads comprise saw-tooth plastics cable straps (36).
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
36 words
A duckboard according to any one of Claims 2 to 8, further characterized in that the means linking the treads (26), once in place connected to the treads (25) cannot be readily detached from the treads.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim
29 words
A duckboard according to any of the preceding Claims, further characterized in that one or more of the treads (11) incorporates, or is adapted to incorporate, ground-engaging pegs (16).
Claim 12
Dependent Claim
21 words
A tread (11;25) intended for use as part of a duckboard arranged in accordance with any one of the preceding Claims.
